From wetlands and desert to agricultural fields and the Colorado River, the Yuma region is home to an incredible diversity of birds and wildlife.
Yuma Audubon Society is a community of birders, nature enthusiasts, photographers, and individuals who share a love and curiosity for birds and the natural world.
We are a local chapter of the National Audubon Society dedicated to connecting people with the birds, wildlife, and natural habitats of southwestern Arizona through birdwatching, education, community programs, and conservation.

Join us for birdwatching field trips, bird walks, guest speaker presentations, and community events throughout the season. Many of our activities are beginner-friendly and focus on enjoying nature together while learning about the birds and habitats of southwestern Arizona.

Yuma sits at the crossroads of desert, river, wetlands, farmland, and mountain habitats, making it one of the most unique birding regions in the Southwest.
Around 400 bird species have been recorded in the area, including migratory birds and desert specialists and the endangered Yuma Ridgway’s Rail.
